The Green Hornet (2011)

Dear all, =)

I watched the Green Hornet two days ago. Generally quite a good movie. My primary purpose of watching the Green Hornet is because of Jay Chou. He acts as Kato, the Green Hornet's sidekick.

The Green Hornet first appeared as a radio program in the United States in 1936. Afterwhich, it has appeared on different media platforms like theatres, TV, comic books. More details can be found on Wikipedia.

My Movie Review:

In the movie, Seth Rogen acts as a playboy with no directions in life. After his father's death, he decided to do something meaningful when he met his father's ex-employee, Kato. Together, they tried to save the city from crimes. Their plan was to act as bad guys so that they can get close to bad guys and also avoid being recognised as good guys (to avoid any speculations).

To say the truth, I am rather confused by their plan. But I think it is quite a creative diversion from the usual superhero stories.

The movie focuses quite a bit on the relationship between The Green Hornet and his sidekick, Kato. All I can say is that it is a love-hate relationship. Kato rocks! Watch the movie and you will understand.

Generally, I love the movie. It has some romance, comedy and action. In terms of mystery, not so. All in all, I would give it 4.0/5.0. It would be good if there can be more fighting scenes between the bad guys and The Green Hornet (and Kato). More comedy would be nice too.

Applause to Jay Chou for trying so hard to pronounce his words clearly. It is not easy for someone who do not speak English on a daily basis.

Below is the Official Trailer I got from youtube:

Happy Chinese New Year Eve 2011! =)

Hi all, =P

The first day of Chinese New Year 2011 falls on 3 Feb 2011! Which means today is Chinese New Year Eve 2011!

Wish everyone a happy Chinese New Year!

P.S. Face the future with a great smile and nothing can beat you!

Chinese-styled Linguine

Hi everyone,

I wanted to cook some Pasta. But I want to try something special. Not the usual tomato or cream sauce. So I tried to cook linguine in a Chinese style.

I boiled some water, added some garlic salt and carrot into the boiling water for the taste. Then I placed the linguine into the boiling water to cook.

When it was done, I placed the linguine into a plate. Added some Sesame oil, light sauce and pepper.

I also tried something new instead of the usual meatballs. I laid pumpkin onto the meat that I marinated (with Oyster sauce, Sesame oil, sugar, pepper, Cornflour). Then I steamed it for about 15 to 20 minutes.

I love pumpkins. They taste sweet and are packed with goodness! They contain Antioxidants, Fiber, Vitamins A, C, K, E and Minerals like Iron, Potassium, Magnesium. (Source: http://lowcarbdiets.about.com/od/whattoeat/a/pumpkin.htm)

Anyway, my outcome of the steamed pumpkin-meat combination was, I prefer tasting them separately. But I might try another method of cooking the combination next time. Perhaps diced pumpkins and stir-fry meat. =)
