Christian Mingle movie

Dear *Freaders,

It's going to be Mothers' Day tomorrow!!! Show your Mums appreciation by spending time with her. Bringing her on a date will be a splendid gesture! :)

By the way, I want to blog about this movie called Christian Mingle released in 2014. From the movie poster, it is obvious that it is all about romance.

Christian Mingle sounds like a name, probably the name of a guy. And, I was thinking in my head that this could be a sweet film - perhaps about a girl who meets the perfect guy who turns out to be her Mr. Right.

Well, Christian Mingle is more than that... :)

I want all of you to watch the movie, hence I am going to write a really brief plot summary.

Gwyneth Hayden's life is close to perfection but she feels empty - she thinks that the only thing lacking is a decent man in her life journey. By chance, she finds a dating website ChristianMingle.com and fills out a profile to find Mr. Right. In the end, she receives more than what her heart desires. :)

If you read my past reviews on movies, you will know that I LOVE to ponder about the meaning behind movies.

Here goes....

1) GOD loves us and He hopes for us to have a relationship with him.

He is a Father to us. He wants us to flourish and be emotionally and spiritually strong. And, I do believe He has a "plan" for us.

Many of us are just drifting through life. Some days we wake up feeling hollow and confused. Then we mull over what is the purpose of our life.

I hope every one will take time to reflect and consider what is most important in life.

2) The Truth is what we seek.

Being truthful to family, friends and even strangers are imperative to us. The ability to feel a sense of guilt is what makes us humans. We cannot lie all the time.

Being true to oneself is of even greater importance. Deceiving yourself or pretending is exhausting.

The ultimate essence? Seeking The Truth to living forever. :)

                                                                            ......

*Freaders, watch the movie and share some of your thoughts here, ok? :)))

Review on the Movie "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" (2014)

Dear Freaders*,

Hello! I am going to write a review on the "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" movie that was recently out in the Cinemas. Hope this will inspire you to go and watch it cos I think it is a GREAT show! ^^

By the way, Freaders is a phrase that I had just created from the top of my mind. It represents Friends + Readers = Freaders. I feel that Freaders sound slightly personal than saying "Dear readers". :)))

Here's my Movie Review:

"Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" is not just an action-packed and thrilling movie but it is integrated with meaningful thoughts that we should all reflect on.

The tone of the movie is kinda dark and gripping for me as it is the sequel of "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" in 2011. In the previous show, a devastating virus was unleashed, almost sweeping the human race off the face of the earth. In the 2014 movie, the feeling is bittersweet as the centerpieces - the band of the humans and the group of genetically evolved apes are fighting each other in a quest to survive. It hurts me to see humans and apes fighting but it puzzles and traumatizes me even more to see the conflict within each band. However, this paves way for the purposeful messages in the plot (which I will elaborate on below).

Well, I have to comment that the genuine trust and friendship between a few apes (Caesar, Maurice) and Malcolm (casted by Jason Clarke) and his family is so, so SWEET!!~

You have to WATCH the show first-hand to experience this emotion.

My rating on the movie: 4.5/5.0

Messages:
1) There can be conflict within your own kind. 2) Actions by individuals might have a huge butterfly effect on what happened in this world and what little peace and things we might have can disappear in an instant. 3) This does not mean we should accept it and let things spin out of control. We must do our very best to make amendments to the situation. In the movie, we can see how hard Caesar and Malcolm work to make things better. I really admire their undying spirit in a bid to furnish the best environment for their families.

Anyway, for me, there's one phrase in the movie that really stands out -
"They don't need power, lights, heat, nothing. That's their advantage. That's what make them stronger." (A Human talking about the apes).... Somehow, this makes me reflect on a teaching in the Bible.

Teaching about Money and Possessions in the Bible:
Jesus mentioned "That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life --whether you have enough food to eat and enough clothes to wear. For life is more than food, and your body more than clothing. Look at the ravens. They don't plant or harvest or store food in barns, for God feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than any birds! Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?" .... "Don't worry about such things. These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers all over the world, but your Father already knows your needs. " (Luke 12:22)

Food for Thought: We should spend time building a relationship with God and not store up earthly treasures mindlessly. :)

SO, make some time with your loved ones to watch the "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" before it is too late to catch it~ =)

The Green Hornet (2011)

Dear all, =)

I watched the Green Hornet two days ago. Generally quite a good movie. My primary purpose of watching the Green Hornet is because of Jay Chou. He acts as Kato, the Green Hornet's sidekick.

The Green Hornet first appeared as a radio program in the United States in 1936. Afterwhich, it has appeared on different media platforms like theatres, TV, comic books. More details can be found on Wikipedia.

My Movie Review:

In the movie, Seth Rogen acts as a playboy with no directions in life. After his father's death, he decided to do something meaningful when he met his father's ex-employee, Kato. Together, they tried to save the city from crimes. Their plan was to act as bad guys so that they can get close to bad guys and also avoid being recognised as good guys (to avoid any speculations).

To say the truth, I am rather confused by their plan. But I think it is quite a creative diversion from the usual superhero stories.

The movie focuses quite a bit on the relationship between The Green Hornet and his sidekick, Kato. All I can say is that it is a love-hate relationship. Kato rocks! Watch the movie and you will understand.

Generally, I love the movie. It has some romance, comedy and action. In terms of mystery, not so. All in all, I would give it 4.0/5.0. It would be good if there can be more fighting scenes between the bad guys and The Green Hornet (and Kato). More comedy would be nice too.

Applause to Jay Chou for trying so hard to pronounce his words clearly. It is not easy for someone who do not speak English on a daily basis.

Step up 3 is great!

Hi everyone, =)

I love to dance (although I haven't been dancing for quite some time). If you are like me, you have to watch the movie Step Up 3! It is available in 2D as well as 3D.

What I like about Step Up 3 is the story gets more and more exciting as I watched it! At first, I thought that moose's (actor: Adam G. Sevani) dance moves are fine, not that great. But eventually I realised he is a guy who can really sweep you off your feet with his dance moves. Really cool! The second and third battle in the movie is awesome.
