Journey to Henderson Waves!

Hi everyone, =)

My five good friends and I made a decision to spend some time at Henderson Waves (located at Henderson road) on a Sunday. Our purpose was to see the Henderson waves bridge and picnic. We stayed there from about 3pm to 8pm (Picnic, chat to our hearts' content and play UNO game).

What is so special about Henderson Waves? I would say it is rather artistic. It has a wave-like structure that looks like ribs. It is also constructed quite a distance from the ground. The tallest point of the bridge is 77.88 metres above sea level.

For your kind reference, we took Bus 131 from Harbourfront bus stop. We alighted after 3 bus stops, crossed the road and walked up a steep staircase. It was quite taxing on our knees.

Upon reaching the top of the staircase, we followed the direction sign. Within 5 minutes, we reached the Henderson waves bridge.

We took about 10 minutes to walk from one end to the other. The view along the bridge was not too bad (mainly trees), but not too fantastic. I would recommend visiting the bridge at night, it is quite romantic when the lights are on.

Overall I had a great day!

I took some photos.

Wish You an early Merry Christmas 2010!

Hi all,

I want to wish everyone an early Merry Christmas!

I am counting down, 10 days to Christmas Day! Pray every one in this world will be happy every day!

Here is a beautiful christmas tree photo that I took (This is the tallest Christmas Tree in Singapore in 2010):

Can you guess where I took the photo? =)

If I remember correctly, I heard on the news that it is 11-storey tall and it took about 15 men, 15 days to assemble this christmas tree.

Hohoho! Have a wonderful festive season.

It is a great time to celebrate with your loved ones!

Answer: I took this picture in Resorts World Sentosa, Singapore.

Potluck at my place!

Hi all,

My friends came over to my home for Potluck about two weeks ago. It was post-exams celebration. Some of us (including myself) are graduating from SMU! Cheers.

For those who are not sure what is potluck. Let me kindly explain. According to Wikipedia (8 Dec 2010), potluck refers to "a gathering of people where each person or group of people contributes a dish of food to be shared among the group".

The potluck dishes we had are:
1) Fried chicken
2) Potato with chicken and onions
3) Herbal chicken soup
4) Broccoli with chicken slices
5) Cockles
6) Wanton with pork filling
7) Fried egg with onions
8) Potato salad
9) Tiramisu

These dishes are prepared by ourselves. Different dishes cooked by different persons.

Of course, not forgetting we drank a bottle of red wine. =)

I hope you will have a general idea of what to have for potluck the next time you have one.

I posted some photos that my friend took.

Food for thought (Second Visit)

Hi everyone, =)

I went to Food for thought once again (the one located at 8 Queen St). Craving for the toasted brioche.

Read my previous post on my first visit to Food for thought if you are interested.

However, I was really disappointed with the quality of the brioche. It was really good when I ate it the other time. This time, I think it was over-toasted. It was really dry. =(

Anyway, these are the dishes ordered:

1) I customised the "Breakfast" dish.

My plate is filled with brioche, hash brown balls, scrambled eggs and chicken sausage. As mentioned in my previous post, I like the scrambled eggs. The chicken sausage is average.

2) Crispy Curry Chicken & Spicy Chilli Fries

As the name suggested, it is crispy. However, the curry flavour is not strong. Perhaps a little more marination or a little less flour may do the trick.

The spicy chilli fries is average too.

3) Mocha Flavoured Milkshake

I like it. Yummy!

My overall review is 3.5/5.0.

Nolboo Hangari Galbi Korean Restaurant (Singapore)

Dear all, =)

I went to Nolboo Hangari Galbi at Orchard Central (in town) today with two good friends. We like Korean food so we decide to satisfy our cravings. I researched online yesterday for nice korean restaurants in town. I came across comments on a forum that recommend this korean restaurant, Nolboo Hangari Galbi. Hence, we decide to give it a try.

The store ambience is simple, not too bad (but not great either). The waitress that served us was not quite sincere. We asked her questions and she answered in a half-hearted manner.

Anyway, here is my review on the korean food we had:

1. Korean Drinks
- Aloe Vera Drink: Very normal. Not worth ordering for the price.
- Rice Water Drink: My friend loves it. But not everyone will love it.
- Rice Milk Drink: Not what I had in mind. It tastes a little like cereal drink.

2. Porridge & Korean Side Dishes
- Porridge: We were served a tiny bowl of porridge each (before our main dishes came). I think it is quite sweet of the restaurant. The porridge is really light on the tastebuds, which is great for me.
- Korean Side Dishes: 7 side dishes. Lots of vegetables which help to keep my appetite going.

3. Main Dishes
- Cold Buckwheat Noodle: The noodle is astonishingly chewy. The taste is not bad.
- BBQ Pork Belly: The pork is rather juicy. Not too bad.
- Kimchi Hotpot: The ingredients are kimchi, tofu, straw mushroom, pork, leek, dumpling. The taste is rather average. Not too spicy.

To conclude, I give it 3.5/5.0. I tried better-tasting korean food elsewhere (at Bukit Timah).

I took some pictures below. Hope you all love it.
